We told our agent this needs to be on her next advertisement |
Now that we have internet I can finally update my blog! I could've done it from my phone but it's easier on a computer and that's where most of my pics are too.
It has been a long month! Packing
SUCKS! I am so happy to finally be unpacking all the boxes that have been sitting in our garage for the last 3 weeks.

I attempted an entire bottle to myself at dinner but seeing I had 2 glasses before I only got 1 down! |
But really the worst part was the day of moving & closing! We were supposed to close at 2:30 on Thursday, September 27th and while packing up the moving van (and realizing everything didn't fit) we found out that our closing wasn't going through at 2:30 and hopefully it would happen on Friday but it was looking like it could be until Monday. At this point A was at his Auntie Jenn & Uncle Bill's and Wally was at Grandma's so we were all separated and at about 7:00 thursday we were officially 'homeless'! No clothes, no nothing! Because our lender screwed something up (which we still don't understand) she paid for our belongings to go into storage and for us to stay in a hotel for the night. It brought a whole new meaning of being homesick and at this point, I had never felt so lost & lonely! I also have to say, the lady that bought our house was so sweet offering us to leave things in the garage and telling us if there was anything she could do to let her know. Than there was the cleaning lady I found on Craigslist that was so kind offering us her pick-up truck when the movers couldn't fit everything and calling me the following night to check in on us to see if we were able to move in. I will definitely be keeping her number!

Our lender even sent flowers & chocolates while we were at our closing |
When we woke Friday morning we went to my old work to charge my phone (yep, I didn't even have a phone charger) and to sit & wait it out to find out when we were closing. Around 10 am we finally got the call that we had a 1:00 closing but they were squeezing us in so we needed to be patient that it may take a little bit of time. By 3:30 we were on the road to our new house with the movers waiting! It was a long couple of days but it has all been worth it!

He loves watching the washing machine, he worked his way into the cupboard to watch it! |
My parents came in the next day and were a ton of help! My mom & I got the entire kitchen unloaded, my dad did some random things around the house and Andrew got all the important things set up, like the TV's (among a lot of other things)!! I got my new washer and dryer, which was like christmas morning for me and we've had the invisible fence guy out and received an estimate on blinds, ugh!!
We are still trying to get our home situated and I'm sure it will take a
long time but we will just take one project at a time! Can't wait to have everyone out, I think it's going to be a perfect home to create great memories!
