Where Have We Been?

It has been a busy couple of weeks...

School started back up for us!

A is in a communications class at the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD), we are working really hard at getting more words out of this boy. While he isn't quiet by any means and loves to talk (just like his Daddy & Papa) in his own language he isn't quite getting the real words down. We go to class every Thursday for an hour with about 5 other kids his age where we get to sing songs, do an art project, get free play time, snack and dance! He loves it and this last week he was definitely the star student!! He is going to be re-evaluated on February 9th to make sure he is in the right program but to be honest this last week or 2 he has really started talking a lot more - making letter sounds, calling out the letters he sees and putting 2 words together! We also signed-up for a 'Tot Play Group' at the Sterling Heights Rec Center on Mondays, which was not the best but A seemed to enjoy it! And, lastly, we are in a 'Tumble with Me' class at my gym on Wednesday's. This is by far his favorite where he gets to do somersaults and pencil rolls down an incline, hang from a bar, jump on a trampoline, walk a balance beam, dance and so many more activities! We are really looking forward to this week when they get the ball pit out! I'll be taking the nice camera for this class :)

Andrew & I worked together to make a board for A & I to work on the daily weather and the days of the week. I also labeled our appliances and other random things through the house.
Helping get the supplies at Lowes for his special board!

Good Food & Great Friends!

Last weekend we decided to make a nice indian dinner, it's one of our favorites! We usually make Chicken Tikka Masala (you can get my recipe here) but we decided to make Butter Chicken this time (here is the recipe we used but I will say we made a lot of our own changes and it was kind of hard to follow). Our friends, the Heath's, are big fans of indian as well so we invited them over. Dinner turned out good but the company was the best part! Their son, Finn, is only 4 months younger than A so they are so fun to watch!

A Chipped Tooth :(

This past week A and I made our usual trip to Target and upon leaving the building he got a little crazy on me going over the bumps just outside the door and hit his mouth on the cart. He started bleeding in which I thought he hit his lip or bit his tongue but it was worse! He hit his front tooth, chipped it and it was bleeding from behind! I was so concerned so I called the dentist but they said just to keep an eye on it and if it's not super loose or really sharp that isn't too much they could do. We've been monitoring and pretty sure he's alright! Haven't noticed any color change and although he is putting his hands in his mouth a lot I think that also has to do with getting his 2 year molars. He actually took this pic of himself and you can kind of see the tooth.

5K

Andrew signed up for a 5K run a few weeks back for the 'Freeze your Franny' and that's exactly what we did! It couldn't have been colder, windier or snowier!! But, all in all, it was fun! Andrew did awesome (he had a lot of motivation from his buddies telling him he couldn't do it, they really like to tease each other)! He finished in 25m11s, that's approximately 8m9s miles, he was 20th out of 41 in his age group. I have to say, for not much training and horrible weather conditions we are really proud of him, he did awesome!!

Getting Ready!!
Catching snowflakes :)

He did it! Unfortunately, we missed him running by by about 30 seconds so I made him pretend so I could get a pic - haha!
