2 Weekends in a Row!

We have a cabin in Sterling, MI we rent out with friends every memorial weekend, we have been going since 2004 and after we were trying to make plans with Andrew's cousins to spend the weekend together we decided that maybe this cabin would be our best bet! Enough beds/bathrooms for everyone, volleyball court, small lake, fire pit, indoor pool & jacuzzi! What more could you ask for? So that meant we would be going to this cabin 2 weekends in a row!

Memorial Weekend is an adult only weekend! So Alexander got shipped off to North Lake with Uncle Brian and the Johnson kids and mom & dad got a weekend away, again, I was feeling guilty :(

We had a great time and for most of the weekend the weather cooperated, that is until we decided to go canoeing and then it poured rain (this may be an understatement) and was about 55 degrees! Thunder & lightning, high gusts of wind, it got very scary! And of course it wasn't just an hour we had to sit through it, it was over 3 hours of cold, rainy torture!!! Let's just say, none of us will ever forget it!

A friend of ours is a fireman so every time we are together and a bonfire is involved the fire gloves are included, this year Andrew received his very own fire gloves! It was a very proud moment :)

Nothing good can come from staying up until 4:30 in the morning! Than again, we did have a great time!!

Thanks friends for another fabulous weekend and thanks Bill & Jenn for dealing with setting it up!

The following weekend was a family weekend with Andrew's cousins from Canada and his Aunt & Grandma from Scotland. Besides the super rainy, chilly weekend we had a fabulous time!

One of the best activities was the pool and jacuzzi! A had a blast!!

The next best thing was the game room!

Saturday morning cleared up enough for us to go on a nature hunt! A & Wally had a blast running around, finding puddles, throwing rocks and just exploring!

Wallace was exhausted!

Grandma's birthday was also coming up so we celebrated with everyone! Jenn made a delicious cake!

We all pitched in and got her an iPad so she can Skype with every one a little easier! Hopefully she can learn enough over here in America to be able to figure it out when she goes back home!

Sunday morning we packed up, got the house cleaned and piled into 'Big Blue' to head back home. It was a great weekend and always sad to say goodbye to family but we were certainly ready to get back home, it had been a long few weeks and too much driving North & South on 75!!

The watermelon smashed to the ground about 30 seconds after this pic! Big Blue just couldn't handle anything more! There were about 6 coolers, bag-o boards, leftover food and 6 adults, 1 kid in a booster and 2 in car seats and a dog! I don't know how the guys got everything to fit, but it worked!

Another great weekend family, never a dull moment! Can't wait to see you all again soon!
