Alright, I'm done being sappy :)

A & I headed out on a Wednesday since Andrew was going to be in Chicago all week, no use in sitting around the house all by ourselves so we packed up and headed out (with a few stops in between!). Andrew's Grandma had been staying with us so we needed to drop her off at Bill & Jenn's and then I was taking some of the Johnson kids with me so I needed to stop at Brian's work, Gatherall Bindery, and transfer everything over into Big Blue (another weekend in Blue!). Then we were off to get the Johnson kids at their house. I think by the time we got to North Lake I had been driving for about 6 hours, needless to say it was a long day!
We didn't do anything too special while we were there, but we did get to test out the new slide on the swim platform (thanks Mimi & Papa), A went down it several times but I'm not sure what he thought. Unfortunately, no one had a camera to capture the moment but I'm sure we'll be enjoying the slide all summer!
And we were able to perfect the smores cones I got off of Pinterest, they were so delicious!
We also visited downtown Kalamazoo and went to Island Fest, I think the kids had more fun on the playground than anything else!
Evening boat ride around the lake and then a bubble bath!
My dad's new chair/couch! It's 7 feet long! My mom calls it the 'elephant' and the kids loved it!
I was able to enjoy a nice bike ride on the Kal-Haven Trail!
And, A got to ride his bike too! Except his ride didn't go too well! He not only had a nasty fat lip he had a goose egg on his forward and skinned knee & knuckles! Needless to say he won't be riding without a helmet anymore!

Andrew got back from Chicago on Friday so I picked him up off the expressway while his friends continued their drive home and we stayed until Saturday afternoon. We had to get home to go to Andrew's 20th high school reunion, old fart!! We had a beautiful evening with perfect weather but unfortunately timing was bad because it was in the midst of fish fly season! They were dive bombing us all night! And if you haven't seen this parody about it, check it out, it's pretty funny!
Can't wait for more summer nights at North Lake!
